What's your song of 2016?
Curious about this one. Would be nice to see what kind of eclectic "Compilation" this thread creates from our users.
Please post links to the songs to make it easy for everyone.
One song that I've thoroughly enjoyed this year is "Joe's Dream" by Bat For Lashes. I'm quite the sucker for sombre songs sung by ladies.

I picked up Avalanche City's album "We are For the Wild Places" earlier this year. I first got put onto him after listening to him play on Radio NZ live last year. I particularly like "Fault Lines", but as I don't see an official music vid for it I'll put you onto "Inside Out" which, if anything, is a very catchy tune.

Alternately live on RNZ:

For those that don't know him, he's the chap that composed the 'Love Love Love' tune that was used as TV2's theme not too long ago and is now on the New World ads.

Can't believe I missed this topic a month ago, so thought I would try invigorate it a wee bit by adding in my musical joys of last year.
This was quite a varied year for me, which began with the thumping amazingness of Architects latest album 'All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us', with the title being bone chillingly yelled in Nihilist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpMxRApFkkI
The album is quite heavy, political, and became a lot darker when the guitarist and song writer died post recording and a bit of touring from terminal cancer wherein a lot of the lyrics gained a much deeper meaning, which they had hoped it wouldn't. Heavy album.
Whereas the year ended with a surprise from Childish Gambino, who jumped on the neo-sou/jazz/funk train with 'Awaken My Love", which I have really enjoyed despite not being a fan of his or those genres, it just hits ya in the vibe bone.
I'd recommend 'Redbone', the live version is pretty stellar (as is his sick as Lando Mo): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aud86OSqQ1w

Probably The Foals - Mountain at my gates . With Kids I never get the chance to hear much new music or go to gigs anymore so all I hear is on the radio at work.
