Postby IronhideTFX » Wed Mar 13, 2013 7:04 pm

So ive been getting into photography lately (just as a hobbie, self teaching).
Wondering if anyone else dabbles?
What do you shoot with?

I don't really consider myself a real photographer, but I do love taking pics of my bots.

I use an old-ass Kodak m530 digicam, which belongs to my sister most of the time.

I take my pics mostly with reflected sunlight, and haven't really worked on setting up any sort of studio for taking nicer shots.

Most of my toys end up getting a 4 panel feature photograph just so I can show them off to my friends.

Like so.

I've gotten into it as of late as well.

I shoot with a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 (The instant camera one), a Canon 60D and 7D, and of course my cellphone.

I'm still learning though.

Here's a couple shots i took with the instant camera. (photo's of photo's taken with my phone  )

Currently using a Fujifilm Finepix S as my main camera and the 8mp camera on my smartphone as a backup/everyday camera. Looking to one day invest in a fairly decent DSLR camera like one of the Canon EOS's.

Half my battle with photography is mainly getting my camera to hold a charge, as it always flatlines at crucial moments. Power options range from expensive (li-ion) or cheap but unreliable (nihm rechargables).

From time to time I use a Fujifilm X-S1.

But the camera I carry in my bag is just a Kodak Easyshare C813 Zoom Digital Camera.

I Shoot a bit on a Panasonic GH2 m4/3 camera. I spent too much on a f0.95 lens, it's gorgeous though.

Wow we have some good cameras here (X-s1 is pretty damn sweet for a non SLR, has a gorgeous sensor and can do RAW)

Sonic Boom - Curious, why a 60D and a 7D? Wouldn't you just use 7D?

NKF - Have you posted photos on here before? I may have you confused with someone else (Almost like studio shots with TFS?)

Felix - i Love micro 4/3s. OM-D is one of the sweetest cameras i've had a play with.

Does anyone do many scene shots with tfs posed? Any tips?

Man, photography is a topic that always grinds my gears. I have a Panasonic FZ-150 and no matter what I do I'm rarely happy with pictures I take. All I probably need to do is get some books out of the library and learn. It's just gonna be a long process I fear.

Yeah, got some really quality lenses for the system now, I'd love to upgrade to a GH3 eventually, has the same awesome sensor as the OM-D but keeps all the high-bitrate awesome video capabilities of the GH2

MeanGreen - Youtube tutorials. So much fun. I've been watching DigitalRev on youtube, heaps of funny and informative how to.

GH2 is very nice, was reading an article how they use it for filming ariel shots in TopGear

Composition definately defines a great photo, more so than technicality. Grab some non photography art books for some composition tips. Even film books detailing fundamental laws of motion picture can help out :)

Usually in the monthly hauls with my bots against a cloth lit by lamp light. Haven't been too active these last few months. Work has just been wiping me out at the end of most days, and all my other hobbies are starting to pile up as well.

60D is mine, The 7D isn't but I use it quite often.
