Yeah... I kind of felt the same. Maybe it'll be ok... but not hoping for much.

Does anyone genuinely care about The Fantastic Four? They've always struck me as real B-Team comic heroes.

I really like the idea of them as a superhero family that is constantly getting involved in things that are right on the edge of reality, science and history. Things that are way out there.

I don't know if they've ever been portrayed well in that way but it feels right.

Captain America replaced by token black dude, well that don't make any sense because his sister sue storm is white with blonde hair? Unless they are adopted.
Funny thing I was just watching whiplash last night so it would be different to see that guy as Mr Fantastic.

And just like what Mr Deflok said about Ben Grimm with no pants......whoa!

Man this looks awful.... Done well a reboot can work, but seldom is the case. Fantastic 4 are a really weak super hero team too. Yeah they've been on the Marvel roster for ages, but that doesn't necessarily make them good movie fodder. I get sick of seeing all the "this is how they get their powers" stories too. Hollywood should focus on original ideas for sequels rather than redoing movies. Definitely a must not see for me, and I'm a huge Marvel comic fan.

Wow that was a seriously underwhelming trailer...

OMG look its like all drama and this is a serious voice and something dramatic is going to happen. Serious face. Rock smash. Fires. Stretch. Token proclamation of something wicked this way comes. Title. **pause for drama and sighs of awe**

So they don't go to space for their powers? They hop into trash cans and then something happens with bright lights and fire and they all melt and become super humans instead of BBQ Fantastics?

I haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy but I'd not say they are as 'famous' as the F4. The trailer for GotG is like an Oscar Award winning thing compared to this trailer. This trailer doesn't make me want to see the film, or even really be interested in it, I wasted almost 2mins of my life for that?!!!!

And even more posting your thoughts about it

The voice makes me think they couldn't afford Morgan Freeman so asked the guy to do his best to pretend to be him.

As expected, they seem to have taken the Ultimate comics version as the basis for this version which means they get their powers from teleporting into the Negative Zone. I can't say the teen version of the team does anything for me, so it's an uphill climb for this film with me anyway, even leaving aside the rest of the chatter about what's going on in the film and behind the scenes. I'll go see it, but really I'd prefer the rights went back to Marvel so they could intelligently layer the team into the MCU.

The FF have their place in Marvel, but yeah it is a bit of a hard sell nowadays when everyone has been mining in one form or another the FF approach towards superheroes - which was radical in the 60's - for the past fifty odd years.

I agree. Marvel should get the rights back, THEN reboot.

It does seem that Fox are doing the reboot just to keep the rights. It worked for the first Amazing Spiderman, so hopefully we'll get a decent first movie. The sequel probably won't be any good.
