I watched some photography tricks a while back and they said to get some black corrugated plastic and shine the light source on to that with it next to the subject. Something about it throwing reflected light instead of direct light. It might have been white card though. I can't remember exactly.

Thanks for the input guys.

I've tried editing in post. Just can't seem to get the right balance. Either darkens it too much, or leaves it too hot and blows out the detail.

Yeah was thinking I need to put a defuser on the lights.
Bouncing the light is a good idea too. I think my problem is direct lighting.

Did another shoot.
Tried baking paper over the lights. Seems to have helped.

Also had a wee go at super imposing. A lot of fun.

Amazing photos, man. Love the Soundwave one.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM!

Am smitten with Backdraft and so thought I should crack open PS again (been a while) and do some shiat.

Image

Not perfect, but still kinda cool.

LOVE IT.

Awesome effects and background.
You must have a good lighting set up too, i find red bots a real pain to light.

Thank you :) Would you believe it's just LED room lighting and a photo from my cellphone? The toys aside, the rest is Photoshop :)

Oh wow. The room i use for photos has horrible colour from the light, so i need to use lamps (Which i need to have closer to the figures, cause they aren't as bright as room lights).

Got inspired by your recent post to take some more. Been trying to make some backgrounds.
Todays test was an old backed on oven tray. I think with some lines traced on and some wires hanging down, this could be the key to a cybertronian backdrop.

I've really gotta do some more compositing. Looks so cool.

Poor quality photo (was taken with my Surface) but...

Thank you 3P world!

Finally decided it'll be S1 only but I won't be selling my non-S1's.

The Dinobots are in my sons room in his display and Skyfire (Kronos) is in a box.

Just waiting for my Willis to arrive and need to make my mind up about XTB's Windcharger. Trailbreaker I'll likely go with BC (love BC) and Jazz and CJ I have no idea about.

Love it. So tempted to go 3rd party for some S1 bots.
Heard great things about Badcube brawn, and that upcoming Trailbreaker looks epic.

Just another quickie. Wanted to capture how big these bots would be IRL.

That low angle shot is fantastic Mr. D. Imposing sense of scale. And nice photoshopping IronhideTFX. You guys always remind me that I want to try tinkering around with image editing.
