Sightings - United States of America

Postby jalbert009 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 7:16 pm

So its my first day in the US and I will be traveling from the west coast to the east coast. I went to walmart San Leandro and Union City in California. It was actually quite disappointing as they had very similar stock to what we have. The only new stuff I noticed was that they have HA stealth bumblebee, roadbuster and HA basics tailpipe. I will update you guys more as my journey continues for the next 6 weeks. :D

So I ventured into Target Newark and found about 15 HA Leadfoot's so i picked one up. HA stealth bumblebee and Roadbuster were well stocked. Again there wasn't much stuff that we didn't have already in NZ. I also passed by ROSS and they had some old NEST deluxes like brawn, lockdown and ratchet. The prices here are so cheap compared to NZ. Deluxes $12, Voyagers $20, HA basics $10 and the Leaders were $40+ (cant remember). :D

All the regular HA's are $30 + state tax of 8.75%. Its weird over here because when you shop, you need to have extra money coz they add state tax at the cashier unlike us our GST is already included in the price they put on the item.

Went to Target in Union City and they had the usual stock, nothing new. Even the KREO TF's stock is similar to what we have in NZ. But I noticed there seems to be more generations and classics stock here, I saw a few wheeljacks, thundercrackers, kups and cliff jumper. I also saw Robo power transformers which are TFs in robot mode but cant transform to vehicle mode, they are selling for $10 and are about the size of a voyager class.

Im still hoping I find the new wave of HA basics.

So I went to Toys R Us in times square at New York...

Human Alliance wave 1 only
Human Alliance Basics wave 1 only
DOTM deluxe up to wave 2 only
Voyagers up to Sentinel prime wave
Leaders up to Ironhide
Cyberverse play sets included megs and prime.
Tons of past ROTF NEST and Generation deluxes.
Also saw some ROTF NEST voyagers like defender prime, bludgeon etc.

What stood out was their Trans Scan Line which included sideswipe, ratchet, ironhide and bumblebee. I was very tempted to get sideswipe but i was able to resist as he was only a repaint of the ROTF version anyways. They were selling for $15 each.

It seems that DOTM is not selling very well in many stores I have been to. I think they over anticipated the amount of stock that would be sold and now they are all shelf warming and are not getting the new stuff. In any case, I hope I get new stuff before I come back to NZ. Im still hunting for HA basics whirl & dragstrip. Also hoping to get HA soundwave...

I went to a clearance store today called "A Lot Less" and I found ALL the RTS deluxes at least 6 of each priced at $7.99 each. I also found Animated Voyager Blitzwing, Shockwave and Skywarp priced at $11.99 each, there were about 6 of each as well.

sigh... Still no HA basics whirl and dragstrip, wave 5 DOTM deluxes and RTS lugnut...

So I take it you started this thread to let us know what you are bringing back or... the more sinister alternative, to rub salt in our wounds? ;)

Actually, when I get back to San Francisco (my last stop) I might take orders from u fellows depending on how much extra weight I have left over. Me and my wife are allowed 32kg each. :D of course im avoiding buying stuff unless its on my want list coz i dont want to carry them all over the US coz i have 6 more states to visit. im hoping tranformers prime toys hit the shelves by november so i can bring home lots.

Seeing the different variety of shops here is nice and all the exclusives that we dont get. My Trip will be California - New York - Washington DC - New Jersey - Dallas - Nevada - Arizona - California LA / San Francisco :D

Well back to sightings, I walked into Kmart today and noticed they had lots of the dare devil squad packs which included sam, deluxe bee and a repaint of backfire i think which was selling for $25 each. They didnt have anything else we didnt already have. I also went to Comic Con and saw DOTM stuff up to wave 6 and Transformers Prime toys. I will post pics when I get a chance.
